Steven Moffat of Doctor Who made it clear at a press conference held on the 21st March 2012 that Coleman was to take over the role of Karen Gillan after she and Arthur Darvill had left. Moffat picked her to play the part because she was the most effective when working with Smith and could speak more rapidly than the actor. She is however, more known for TV projects instead of films. Eva has appeared in a number of television parts, however the roles of Dr. Maria Santos from All My Children and Detective Natalia Boa Vistas from CSI Miami have stood out. This particular show earned Eva two nominations for a Daytime Emmy. Additionally, she was able to express her creative side through music. Apart from being an actor Eva is a philanthropist and an entrepreneur. She has been married three times, and has one daughter along with her husband.
